Assos garments are without question the best in the world
and, with proper care, are meant to last for years and years under even the
most demanding conditions.
The team at Assos say that they like to keep things simple
and give their warranty on new purchases as follows: "Any manufacturing
defect you note on your garment within the first 300 km or 200 miles on the
bike. No questions asked; we simply exchange it."
What if you’re out of that 200-mile period though?
Assos says that if something simple goes wrong, like a
gap in a seam or a rip in a pocket, they probably repair it. Most of the
repairs they do for free regardless of the age of the garment. If the damage is
significant it may be determined that the product is simply not able to be
repaired.
How do you send a garment back to Assos?
If you have a garment that is either under warranty or
needs to be repaired and that was purchased from Above Category, please follow the instructions below:
Common problems and their remedies
Assos logo peels off. This does happen and can easily be repaired by Assos.
Fabric peilling
According to Assos, fabric pielling does not occur by
itself--it always is the result of abrasion and it is not possible to repair.
Assos suggests that riders avoid washing soft garments like jerseys and shorts
with jackets, gloves, etc. because the Velcro fasteners can cause pilling.
Assos also suggests avoiding the use of embroidered saddles as they an cause
damage to shorts.
Insert comes loose
Considering the stress the fine threads on the side of
the chamois undergo every time you extend your leg, it is quite normal that
this happen. It is not a problem for Assos to return this.
Zipper breaks
Of course this often happens during normal wear. Assos
can easily repair most zippers on their garments.
Seams come unstitched
This can happen and is quite easy for Assos to repair.
Fabric deteriorates
It’s known that sweat is a toxic substance. With some
individuals it can be quite serious. Due to their high performance design, Assos
fabrics are delicate and deterioration eventually might occur. In order to
minimize this problem, they recommend you water rinse the garment after each
ride. Also, never store the garment moist or in a closed environment like a
plastic bag.
Comfort problems
Most of the time, a comfort problem is simply due to
having an incorrectly sized garment. If the comfort problem a rider is
experiencing is due to having purchased an incorrect size, Assos cannot be held
responsible. If you’ve purchased the garment from Above Category, please contact
us and we will attempt to work out a favorable resolution.
