ALS: Assos Layering System
When it comes to clothing and riding, less is always more (seems to us like less clothing should always be better than more!). In order to cause less interference with the rider's natural pedaling motion and still offer an appropriate amount of warmth for a given temperature range, the entire Assos collection has been built with this minimalist philosophy foremost in mind.
The concept with the Assos Layering System is to create an actual micro-climate between the rider's body and their cycling garments. If a rider has exactly the right combination of clothing for a given temperature, then a stable layer of air will form between body and garment and they won't sweat too much or be hit with a chill.
Like an intricate puzzle, Assos has created suggested combinations for given temperature ranges and weather conditions (which you see here), but the company encourages riders to experiment with different combinations in order to figure out exactly what works for their personal preference.
