For this weeks BOTW we have a gorgeous Baum Corretto in Satin Pearl White, Lava Grey, Hot Pink and Black Metallic. This was built for Jason C. and has already landed in Texas for it's maiden ride.
A nice little touch was this artwork courtesy of Jason's children and forever displayed under the clear coat. Much cooler than pictures on the fridge we think…
This is the GTR paint scheme from Baum that keeps the rear triangle in a natural titanium finish. We've built quite a large number of Baums over the past two years and I still can't get enough of those dropouts!
We say it every time but pictures really can't do these bikes justice. The Lava Grey pops really hard against the Satin Pearl White and Hot Pink and looks amazing. This is a pretty simple paint scheme, but just by adding the pink, it changes it so much and won't be a look that the rider will tire of.
This was our first customer bike built with the new 2015 Campagnolo Super Record group as well. We would have done the Bora wheels but they weren't going to be ready for another month or so. Instead Derek built up a pair of Zipp 404 clincher rims to a set of White Industries T-11 hubs and DT Swiss Aerolite spokes, almost as good depending on who you ask!
As this bike will see action in Texas the gearing differed quite a bit from bikes we build for hillier locations. 53X39 with a 11X23 out back; big stuff.
3T Team stem and our favorite bar, the 3T Rotundo LTD wrapped in Fizik Microtex tape. A Fizik Arione R1 sits on top of an Enve post.
The build is finished off with Vittoria Open Corse CX tires in 25mm, Continental tubes, Time ti pedals and King ti cages. Beautiful to look at and even better to ride!
White Industries T-11 with the tiny 11X23 cassette…
