RESPONSORIUM - $4950
Based on the legendary Marcelo, Pegoretti’s Responsorium is an exercise in uncharacteristic (for Dario, and for us) moderation. It retains its older brother’s burly looks, with oversized tubing throughout, but the Columbus metal is now stainless steel XCr, with aggressive butting to both drop weight and deliver more compliance to the rider. Chain and seatstays are slimmed down to 16mm from 18mm to soften the ride, while Pegoretti’s signature hooded dropouts remain to maintain stiffness at the rear hub. The stainless tubeset is resistant to corrosion, making the Responsorium an ideal steel bike for year-round riding in unforgiving locales. Up front, the Responsorium keeps the trademark D11 Pegoretti headtube, and the house-designed Falz fork completes the signature design.
MARCELO - $3950
A pure steel race bike comprised entirely of heat-treated, TIG-welded oversized Columbus Spirit tubing, the Marcelo’s connected, responsive ride convinces ardent carbon junkies of its legitimacy. Hooded dropouts give the massive seat and chainstays extra weld surface at their meeting point, helping make the Marcelo an ideal launchpad for even the most powerful of riders. Dario’s trademark grand tour geometry ensures comfort over the long haul, and when diving into corners or throttling the bike at 1500 watts in a sprint, the D11 oversized headtube keeps the front tracking true. Even with the massive amount of stiffness, the Italian steel’s comfort delivers, muting harsh road buzz and taking the ragged edge off of bumpy roads.
DUENDE - $3350
Pegoretti's most "traditional" steel frame, now that the lugged Day's Done and Luigino are no more, the Duende is the dark contrast of a stiff, oversized Columbus Spirit front triangle with slim, tapered seat and chainstays for a more compliant rear end. With the Pegoretti Falz carbon fork and oversized D11 headtube in front, the Duende is the racing frameset for the traditionalist, an exercise in two balanced personalities.
If you know, you know. Dario's sublime alloy racing bike - and these are the last ones available. He is not building any more, ever, thanks to limited scandium tubeset supplies. Available ONLY as a complete bike.
